In this case, we've found all of our guests whose checks average more than $40 (the amount will vary from restaurant to restaurant) on each visit. Because they spend so much, it's profitable to offer them incentives to return as quickly as possible and as often as possible.

So, we reward them with MVP ("Most Valuable Patron") postcards. (The reverse of each of these is personalized for each of our MVPs.)
It's almost guaranteed that as each of these is redeemed, the average check will be greater than $40 after the discount is applied. (And keep in mind, the discount, in all probability, cost you less than $3.)
